We’re looking for a new Senior Lawyer (Litigation) at Canterbury Legal

Are you already working for a professional services firm?  Sick of your hard work rewarding the Owners and not you?  Tired of the politics of the “boys club”? Have a look at us:

About us

Established in 1991 we are a medium sized legal practice based in Christchurch specialising in property and business, company & commercial law, trusts & asset protection as well as litigation and dispute resolution. Our team has experience in a broad range of legal issues and we pride ourselves on our approachable and friendly atmosphere.  We offer flexible working options, excellent professional development opportunities and (if you’re inclined) we enjoy getting together socially for sporting events or just a quiet Friday night drink.

We are looking to grow our litigation and dispute resolution business and require an experienced litigator. Presently much of our work in this area is being briefed.

Our established client base has a need for senior litigation services covering a variety of dispute resolution channels:  mediation, arbitration, negotiation, Family Court, District Court, High Court and Appellant Courts. Within this role you’ll have the support of a intermediate solicitor to work on varied and interesting litigation. There will be the opportunity to further develop the litigation practice and for career advancement.

About you

You’ll be a talented and well rounded lawyer with the ambition to want to develop both yourself and our intermediate/junior lawyers. You will already have good experience as a litigator and be looking for an environment where collaboration and emphasis on client service is valued. You’ll be looking for a competitive salary and profit sharing opportunities. Most importantly, your personality will fit in with our friendly environment and will complement our existing great team.
